NHL DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy hockey top picks for April 19

The 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Friday night as the Calgary Flames take on the Colorado Avalanche and the Boston Bruins play the Toronto Maple Leafs. Johnny Gaudreau and the Flames will be looking to stave off elimination as they enter Friday facing a 3-1 series deficit, while David Pastrnak and the Bruins continue to battle Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs in a series that is knotted 2-2. Those dazzling talents are all sure to have high ownership in NHL DFS tournaments and cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings on Friday night because of their ability to put up huge numbers on any given night. But before you fill out your NHL DFS lineups, be sure to check out the NHL DFS picks and advice from DFS millionaire Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He's also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best NHL DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They're a must-see for any NHL DFS player.

On Thursday, McClure recommended Sharks center Tomas Hertl at $6,500 on FanDuel. The result: He scored two goals against the Golden Knights -- returning 35.2 points and over 5x value. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a huge day. Now, he's set his sights on Friday's NHL DFS slates and locked in his picks.

For Friday's slate, we can tell you McClure is high on Bruins center Patrice Bergeron at $8,000 on FanDuel and $6,600 on DraftKings. Bergeron scored a goal in each of the first two games of the series and added an assist in a Game 4 win over the Maple Leafs. He's put 15 shots on net thus far in the series and last season he had eight points in a six-game Eastern Conference semifinals win over the Maple Leafs, so you'll definitely want to incorporate him into your NHL DFS strategy on Friday.

Another pick he loves: Flames wing Elias Lindholm ($5,400 on FanDuel, $5,400 on DraftKings), who had 78 points in 81 games this season. Lindholm had three goals in three regular-season games against the Avalanche during the 2018-19 campaign. And two of those goals came on the power play, where he put up 26 of his points for the season.

Last game out, Lindholm added another power-play goal and the Flames will need Lindholm and his top line with Sean Monahan and Gaudreau to produce a big night if they hope to take the series back to Colorado for Game 6. Luckily, Lindholm is at his best in his own building, with 42 of his 78 regular-season points coming at home.

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Friday. He's a huge steal at his price point, so this pick could be the difference between cashing and going home with nothing. You absolutely need to see who it is before setting your lineups.
