NHL DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy hockey top picks for May 6

NHL DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy hockey top picks for May 6

The 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Monday as the Boston Bruins, up 3-2 on the Columbus Blue Jackets, look to finish out the series at 7 p.m. ET. The San Jose Sharks are also looking to slam the door on the Colorado Avalanche as they also take a 3-2 series edge into Game 6 at 10 p.m. ET. The player pools on daily Fantasy sites such as FanDuel and DraftKings are smaller in the postseason, but that doesn't make it any less exciting with huge names such as Nathan MacKinnon, Patrice Bergeron, Logan Couture and Brent Burns among the top skaters available this evening. And before you set your Monday NHL DFS lineups for playoff action, be sure to check out the top NHL DFS picks and advice from Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He's also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best NHL DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They're a must-see for any NHL DFS player.

On Saturday, McClure recommended Bruins wing Brad Marchand at $7,600 on FanDuel. The result: He scored a goal and recorded a pair of assists -- returning 31.2 points and over 4x value. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a huge day. Now, he's set his sights on Monday's NHL DFS slates and locked in his picks.

For Monday's slate, we can tell you McClure is high on Sharks defenseman Brent Burns ($7,400 on FanDuel, $6,400 on DraftKings), who already has seven points in this series against Colorado. He was one of the highest-scoring defensemen in the league during the regular season, averaging around a point per game. His offensive prowess should be on full display Monday as San Jose looks to close out its series and head to the Western Conference Finals, so confidently lock Burns in as one of your top NHL DFS picks for Monday.

Part of McClure's optimal NHL DFS strategy for Monday includes targeting Avs center Nathan MacKinnon at $8,900 on FanDuel and $7,100 on DraftKings. He's been a big factor in this series with 23 shots on net and five points, and he'll be playing with a sense of desperation as the Avs look to stave off elimination on Monday.

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Monday. He's a huge steal at his price point, so this pick could be the difference between cashing and going home with nothing. You absolutely need to see who it is before setting your lineups.
