The Arizona Diamondbacks will try to continue their surprising season when they host the team with the best record in baseball, the Tampa Bay Rays, on Wednesday. One season after finishing fourth in the National League West, 37 games behind the Dodgers, the Diamondbacks (48-32) lead the division and have the second best record in the NL. On Tuesday they beat the Rays, 8-4, in the first game of the three-game series. The game is one of 15 on the MLB schedule for Wednesday. Elsewhere in the majors, the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves host the Minnesota Twins, and two up-and-coming teams, the Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds, battle in Baltimore. The model, which ran 10,000 simulations on each of the 15 games on Wednesday, is taking Milwaukee (+122) to beat the New York Mets. After losing six straight games earlier this month, the Brewers have won seven of their last 11 games. Meanwhile, the Mets (36-43) have sputtered all season despite a $355 million payroll and enter Wednesday 8.5 games back of the final NL wild-card spot. The team's struggles have prompted owner Steve Cohen to schedule a press conference before the game.

Milwaukee enters the matchup with the edge in starting pitching. Brewers lefty Wade Miley (5-2, 2.91 ERA) has been excellent recently, throwing 11 scoreless innings and allowing just five total hits in two starts since returning from the injured list. Meanwhile, New York's Kodai Senga (6-5, 3.52 ERA) has allowed four runs in three of his last four starts. See who else to back here.
