Flyers mascot Gritty shows up in Santa suit to replace Christmas wreath stolen from a fan's home

Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty is known for cheering on the team, excelling at social media and for his humor, but Gritty is more than just a beloved figure in the NHL, he is also a good samaritan. Gritty was feeling in the holiday spirit this week and gave back to the community by replacing a stolen wreath modeled after the mascot himself.

Last week, Flyers fan Dan Jackson posted on Facebook saying his homemade Gritty wreath was stolen from his South Philly home. Gritty was not about to let that happen without seeking justice and reposted the photo writing, "If you don't return the wreath, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will cake you."

Gritty added, "Gritizens and internet sleuths alike, the case of the stolen Gritty wreath is in your hands now. Don't let me down."

Despite everyone's best efforts, the original wreath was sadly not found, but Gritty was not about to let that be the end of Jackson's wreath story.

Dressed as Santa, Gritty showed up to the Jackson home with a giant replacement wreath.

The orange mascot captioned the series of photos, "and ppl think i'm a grinch."

The home already had a replacement Gritty wreath made, but the one the Flyers mascot brought deserves to go somewhere, though it may be too big for the door.

There are still no suspects in the case of the missing wreath and it is unclear whether Gritty will continue to investigate the matter.
