Jim 'Mattress Mack' McIngvale, who will win over $23M if Astros beat Braves, brings Rally Nuns to World Series

Everybody's favorite sports bettor, Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale, was looking for all the luck he could get heading into Game 1 of the World Series. McIngvale will win a record $22 million on a $2 million bet if the Astors win it all, so he decided to bring nuns from the Dominican Sisters of Mary Immaculate Province to the game -- 55 nuns, to be exact.

According to Matt Young of the Houston Chronicle, the Astros had a 2-0 playoff record entering Tuesday when McIngvale brings nuns to Minute Maid Park, so he purchased 55 tickets for the nuns to try and get luck on his side. Unfortunately for McIngvale, the Rally Nuns didn't bring the Astros much luck in Game 1 of the World Series as the Braves came away with a dominant 6-2 win.

Prior to Tuesday night, the nuns were a good luck charm for McIngvale, though. He ended up putting the nuns in the Coca-Cola suite at Minute Maid Park for Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red, a game which the Astros won.

Following that key ALCS win, fans began calling the group of nuns the "Rally Nuns." McIngvale decided to bring the group of nuns back for Game 6 of the ALCS, which resulted in the Astros winning and advancing to the World Series against the Atlanta Braves.

"Ever since we won Game 1, everyone's been asking me if I can bring the Sisters back for another game," McIngvale said earlier in October. "They're a great group. They love the Astros and they have a lot of fun, so I knew we needed to bring them back for another big win as we head back to the World Series."
