Luka Doncic is fresh off a Game 7 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, but things should be looking up this summer.
The third-year Dallas Mavericks guard will be eligible for a supermax extension in the off-season — because he earned All-NBA honours in 2019-20, and likely will again in 2020-21 — and hinted at his intention to take what is projected by ESPN insider Bobby Marks to be a five-year, $201.5-million payday.
“I think you know the answer,” he told reporters Monday with a smile, according to ESPN‘s Tim MacMahon, when asked if he’d accept the deal.

The 22-year-old was named an All-Star for the second straight year after putting up a 27.7 points, eight rebounds and 8.6 assists per game on 47.9 per cent shooting from the field and 35 per cent from three and leading the 42-30 Mavericks to a second straight playoff appearance.
In taking the fourth-seeded Clippers to seven games, Doncic nearly single-handedly carried the No. 5 Mavericks to an upset, averaging a mind-blowing 35.7 points, 7.9 boards and 10.3 assists on 49 per cent from the field (40.8 from beyond the arc).
