Atletico Madrid squeezed past Manchester United to book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Renan Lodi headed in the only goal of the second leg at Old Trafford to earn a 2-1 win on aggregate for the reigning La Liga champions.

Ralf Rangnick's side put in a lively first-half display but failed to break down a resolute Atletico defence.

The visitors then punished United before the break as Lodi finished off a cross from Antoine Griezmann.
