Nathaniel Mitchell and Nate Bjorkgren have been announced as coaches for the Canadian senior men’s national team for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Mitchell, who has been a member of the senior national team coaching staff since 2016, will assume the duties of head coach for the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 in Brazil next summer.
Bjorkgren, meanwhile, has been named associate head coach and will lead Canada during the November and February windows of the AmeriCup.
Mitchell will also be a lead assistant coach on Bjorkgren’s staff during the November and February windows of the tournament.
Canada has been drawn into Group C with the Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands and the Bahamas for the AmeriCup, which gets underway in November.
