The 2022 MLB playoffs continue on Saturday with an ALCS and NLCS doubleheader. The action starts at 5:07 p.m. ET when the New York Yankees host the Houston Astros in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series. That will be followed by the Philadelphia Phillies hosting the San Diego Padres in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series for a 7:45 p.m. ET first pitch. And while it's only a two-game slate for MLB daily Fantasy, two star-studded lineups give us a loaded MLB DFS player pool.
Aaron Judge is only 5-for-28 during the postseason after his historic 62-homer season but the Yankees will hope that their superstar can get going to turn the series around after digging themselves a 2-0 hole in Houston. Can you trust Judge in your MLB DFS lineups for today's action, or should you be investing your resources on stars who have had more productive playoff runs like Alex Bregman or Manny Machado? On Friday, McClure highlighted Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber in his MLB DFS player pool on DraftKings and FanDuel. McClure's top MLB DFS picks for Saturday, October 22, 2022
One of McClure's top MLB DFS picks for Saturday is Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins, who is listed at $4,300 on DraftKings and $3,200 on FanDuel. The 29-year-old slugger began the season pretty sluggishly in April and May but busted out with a massive June and finished with solid numbers, hitting 30 home runs while driving in 79 and posting a .794 OPS.
Hoskins has a couple of home runs and five RBI in his last five postseason games, including a home run in Game 2 of the NLCS. He's produced double-digit scoring outputs on both FanDuel an DraftKings in three of his last five contests and in a series that has produced seven home runs in three games, Hoskins is one of the biggest home-run threats in either lineup.
Another part of McClure's optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Schwarber again ($5,500 on DraftKings and $3,900 on FanDuel). Schwarber led the National League with 46 regular-season home runs and he put that incredible power on display early in the NLCS with a towering 488-foot home run in Game 1 off Yu Darvish.
Schwarber followed that up with another home run on Friday night and is now 5-for-14 with five walks, two homers, three RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base in his last five postseason games. On Saturday, he'll take on Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger, who allowed 20 home runs in 114 1/3 innings pitched during the regular season and got tagged for four earned runs in 2 2/3 innings in his lone start this postseason against the Dodgers on Oct. 11.
