Sometimes it's the way a batter can pick up the ball out of a certain pitcher's hand, sometimes it's better splits against LHPs/RHPs, or occasionally it's just as simple as feeling poised with a specific pitcher on the mound. Either way, there are always certain hitters that dominate against a pitcher and vice versa. On Monday, Mookie Betts seems to be in an advantageous position for daily Fantasy baseball players forming MLB DFS lineups.
The 30-year-old is batting .438 (7-for-16) with two home runs and three walks against Blue Jays probable starter Jose Berrios over his career. McClure's top MLB DFS picks for Monday
One of McClure's top MLB DFS picks for Monday is Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar ($4,100 on DraftKings and $3,100 on FanDuel). Over his last five games, he has a .313 batting average, a .421 on-base percentage, and has one homer with six runs scored. The LHB has a .793 OPS against right-handed pitching this season as the Diamondbacks are scheduled to start RHP Ryne Nelson on Monday.
Nelson has a tougher time against left-handed hitters, allowing an OPS of .875. He has a 4.30 ERA in four July starts, surrendering an .886 OPS in his first full MLB season. Nootbaar is on pace for his best batting average (.261) and on-base percentage (.360) in his three-year MLB career. He has a favorable matchup on Monday and has shown the ability to outperform this price point this season.
McClure's MLB DFS strategy includes stacking Nootbaar with second baseman Brendan Donovan ($3,500 on DraftKings and $2,900 on FanDuel). He is hitting .327 with a .963 OPS over 15 games this month. The 26-year-old has already doubled his home run total (11) from last season through 89 games after playing in 126 contests last season.
The left-handed hitter has a slash line of .293/.375/.466 for an OPS of .841 against RHPs, which should play in his favor on Monday. He has one of the lowest soft contact rate percentages against RHPs (10.8%) on the season, leaving nearly 90 percent of his contact as either medium or hard-hit balls. Monday appears to be a good day to find value with these two left-handed Cardinals at relatively low MLB DFS prices to include in your MLB DFS lineups. See who else to pick right here.
