The Toronto Raptors are set to sign centre Daniel Oturu to a 10-day hardship deal, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
The 6-foot-9 Oturu has been playing for the Windy City Bulls of the G League this season after being waived by the Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls earlier this season.
Oturu averaged 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 30 games with the Los Angeles Clippers last season. The Clippers acquired him in a trade after the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Oturu in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2020 NBA Draft.
The depleted Raptors signed forwards Juwan Morgan and D.J. Wilson, and guard Tremont Waters to 10-day hardship contracts on Thursday.
Eight Raptors, including starters OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes and Gary Trent Jr., are in the NBA's COVID-19 protocol.
Malachi Flynn, Precious Achiuwa and Dalano Banton are also unavailable due to COVID-19 concerns.
Players in the league's protocol have not necessarily tested positive for COVID-19.
Additionally, centre Khem Birch is out with knee swelling, while Justin Champagnie is unavailable with what the team calls a non-COVID-related illness and David Johnson is out with a calf injury.
The Raptors, who had a game postponed on Wednesday because they didn't have enough players available, are scheduled to play at Cleveland on Sunday.
