Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Kevin Love are committing to play for Team USA at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, according to multiple reports, while Suns star Chris Paul has reportedly declined an invitation.
Middleton and Love have already committed, as per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, while The Athletic’s Sham Charania initially reported Paul plans to commit before Wojnarowski reported the veteran guard will not be attending. Wojnarowski also reported Holiday’s commitment.
USA Basketball has known that Paul was trending toward this decision for several days, per sources. If Suns reach NBA Finals, there would be virtually no break before end of his NBA season and start of July Olympics in Tokyo. https://t.co/1HS80xs5nf

The latest commitments would leave one open spot on the 12-man roster based on previous reports of eight others who have reportedly decided to be a part of the team, according to ESPN: Bam Adebayo, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker and Damian Lillard.
Steph Curry and Donovan Mitchell have declined invitations while Clippers stars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, who is currently out with a knee injury, have both indicated interest in playing in Tokyo.
